Our team workshops began with trainers Dik (Richard) Mayhew, Bart Pigram, Sam Heseltine and Ben Wandei (Life Without Barriers) interviewed each other about where they came from, their work and their relationship to Broome and collecting corresponding visual materials – photographs, archival photographs and video. Although this was meant to be a simple exercise in interview skills, the questions and answers were very personal and yet socially relevant to Broome, its youth, to community, and to humanity. The material gathered set a meaningful tone for the collaborative work with the youths and elders of the community to come.
Trainer Kirra Donnelly joined us during the editing workshops at Goolarri Media training rooms, and with assistance from Goolarri trainers Greg Hain, Chris Mitskinis and senior cameraman Jon Armstrong we have successfully edited and created four short stories from our trainers.
